New care home in Randlay nears completion
24th February 2023
Telford & Wrekin Council is thrilled to see The Maples, which will be managed by the Bracebridge Care Group in Randlay, near completion.
The new care home will offer 70 spacious bedrooms, all with private en-suite wet rooms, and is designed to support independence and comfort for its residents.
It also features a hairdresser and barbers and other specially designed spaces, including a music room and an activities kitchen, to enhance the daily lives of the people who live there.
The home has been thoughtfully designed to complement the local community and history, with a focus on interior design and wayfinding to ensure ease of navigation and a feeling of safety and comfort.
The use of technology also enables staffing levels to be optimised, freeing up more time for care and support.
The Nedge Ward Members Cllr Nathan England, Cllr Chris Turley and Cllr Vanessa Holt said: "We are thrilled to see this project near completion.
"The new care home will not only provide a much-needed care facility for the local community, but it will also bring 70 new job opportunities to the area. We are proud to have played a part in getting this site built out after the previous owner stalled on its delivery.”
Samantha Crawley, Chief Executive Officer for Bracebridge Care Group, said: "We are very grateful for the support of Telford & Wrekin Council.
“Their engagement and collaboration in co-producing this care home has been invaluable and we are incredibly proud to be able to deliver a care home that meets the needs of the local community.
“We will be on site at The Maples from March 2023 to meet with local residents and discuss their care and support needs, and are excited to open the doors at the end of May to serve the residents of Telford and Wrekin for many years to come."
