UKSPF Small Grants Programme: Funding Available for Telford and Wrekin Businesses

We currently have a small allocation of UKSPF funding available to support Telford and Wrekin-based businesses through our Small Grants Programme.

Funding Time Scales:

• Submission of EOI: Businesses can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) starting from Wednesday, 13th November. (See the link in the "Fund Documents and Links" section below.)

• Review and Application: Once EOIs are reviewed and the project is deemed eligible, applicants will receive the full application form.

• Deadline for EOI Submission: Applicants must submit their EOI by Thursday, 12th December.

• Deadline for Full Application Submission: The deadline for submitting the full application is Friday, 13th December.

Important Note Due to Limited Availability of Funding:

• Eligibility: We are only able to support businesses that have not received support through the Large Grants Fund, Business Development Fund, or Small Grants Fund previously.

• Fund Closure: We reserve the right to close the fund early depending on demand.

Fund Overview 

The Small Grants Fund offers grants between £1000 and £2499. Fully funded no match required.

The Small Grants Fund is targeted at Micro to Small businesses based within Telford and Wrekin. The fund aims to support:

• business growth
• expansion into new markets
• adoption of new to firm technologies or processes
• improved productivity
• job creation / safeguarding
• businesses to introduce new products or services

It will do this by offering fully funded grants up to £2499 for capital investment projects as part of a growth plan.

This fund is open to business from B2B and B2C categories, however applications will be prioritised from businesses operating within the following sectors - manufacturing, engineering, digital, professional or other office services, logistics and distribution, wholesale, construction and environmental.

Next Steps

All businesses will be required to go through a three stage application process:

• Stage 1: Expression of interest
• Stage 2: An optional discussion with a member of the Invest Telford team
• Stage 3: Full application

All applications will be assessed against pre-defined criteria, we anticipate high volumes and with a limited amount of funds we will not be able to support all projects that are submitted. 

The onus is on the applicant to complete the application correctly, provide the necessary information and demonstrate that it meets the requirements of the fund. There will be no appeals process and the ability to provide comprehensive feedback will be limited.
